There are 2 main categories in religious philosophy, one group accepts the existence of god and another group which rejects the existence of god.For both of these groups the main principle is to lead a better life in terms of virtues and sins.

Early man was reponsible for his own doing,activities,work or karma, later on he began to observe no man can have complete control over his activities, good or bad. This can be examplified by actions and results theory. Example : I welcomed my guest with flowers but my guest got allergic asthma from the pollens of the flowers. here I expressed my love for my guest with flowers but it gave a negative result.and maybe he will think twice before comming to me again.Another example is i had an enemy when i saw him on the street throw a stone at him but to his good fortune the stone hit a pick pocketer who was trying to steal his purse, whom both of us where unaware of. This event made him my best friend thereafter. From these examples you will also agree that one cannot have full control of your actions and results. Due to these type of results people began to think you cannot have full control of your action even less on results.

Some people in this category belived in god and some where atheist. Those who believed in god attributed the unforseen results of their activities to god, while some others attributed it to time giving rise to belief in time and astrology, and some others began to attribute it to their own previous actions. All of these became hard core thoeries in the search of unknown.

As with the case of philosophies all these thories were interacting over time giving rise to various schools of thoughts. For some there is only one god,some had many,some didn't accept the existence of god. and some attributed all events to time and astrology and furthur people began to refuse everything for which there was no scientific proof.

As you may begin to figure out karma philosophy had its roots in atheism which defied god and attributed everything with previous actions, if you coudn't figure out some previous action that could give this result again go a step furthur and attribute it to previous births. thus began the philosohpy of cleaning one self from ones actions through different birth cycles.

A pure form of theism which says Through god,with god,In god; Well how many people even remembers it any more.

Yes marxism and communism has its roots in one of earliest philosohpies - pure karma. That one is responsible for his or her actions and athiestic nature.Stay good with good deeds, when one dies it is the end, etc

And currently everything is a mess again through rigorous interactions with communication possiblities than previous times, all are confused lot none of philosophies remains pure. with mixed religions, mixed religious philosophies again mixed with nationalities, cultures, time and astrology

Tell me is there any thing that remains pure, we can hide behind one answer that anything that does'nt change is dead. So the mantra is 'keep on changing and be alive.'
